Paint My Wine - The expression of terroir?

It took a long time, but now the newest "Paint My Wine" picture is online. This time it is Château Qanafar 2010 from Lebanon. Fun fact: Our artist painted the wine without the knowledge of its origin (blind tasting). A sign of terror?

Wine of the month (September): Niepoort Vintage DOC 2011 [Cask Sample]

This sleeper (Sousao, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Cao, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Francesa and Touriga Nacional from grapes older than 80 years) matured for 2 years in both toneis (30.000L barrels) and pipas (550L barrels) and appears dark violet in colour. In the nose intense, concentrated and deep flavours of plum, violets and pepper intermixed with liquorice, wild berries and blueberry. On the palate it shows great expression, polish and finesse with plum, blueberry, pepper and violets, mineral notes in the background. The sweetness is perfect integrated, leading to a great balanced, completed rounded wine. Medium to full bodied, soft tannins and a long finish. A monument. Rare buy! Drink: 2016-2045.
Rating: 97 points.
